Surat Thani – On March 28, 2025, AGC Vinythai together with the Coral Conservation Foundation supported by AGC Vinythai Plc. and their partner organizations, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the conservation and restoration of marine and coastal resources at Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province, along with a seminar to share opinions, hands-on experience, and commitment in marine conservation. The company also provided some necessary equipment to the community for running the project.
In the ceremony, there were 120 participants from Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, 2nd Naval Area Command, Koh Samui Municipality, Tourism Authority of Thailand (Koh Samui), Laem Son Local Fisheries Group, the Ban Tai Crab Bank Group, the Elderly Group, Koh Samui District Learning Promotion Center, Theeparatpittaya School, Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, and the Coral Conservation Foundation. Each organization will bring their specialized expertise to strengthen the coral cultivation project. This is to restore coral reefs in Koh Samui to be a habitat for various marine animals and to become an ecotourism destination.
Mr. Tomotaka Yoshikawa, Managing Director, extended his gratitude to partner organizations for their dedication in jointly establishing the coral conservation project, and emphasized the AGC Chemicals Company’s commitment, Chemistry for a Blue Planet. “We would like to create a safe, secure, comfortable, and environmentally friendly world because we are aware that if the earth is not happy, neither are we,” said Mr. Yoshikawa.
This event also provided an opportunity for three colleagues from PPD1, MTP1 and MTP2 plant to learn about the coral cultivation project in depth under AVT Way project. The company believes that employees are the key to driving the company’s commitment, including environmental protection, for creating sustainable society.
