Because the collaboration in rehabilitating marine and coastal resources (Phase 3) since 2019 has been bearing fruits, all six partners which are Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, Aquatic Resources Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University, Coral Conservation Foundation supported by AGC Vinythai Plc. and AGC Vinythai Plc., jointly renewed the MoU for continuously expanding coral restoration on 29 March, 2024 at Sukhothai Hotel, Bangkok. The success of the collaboration could mitigate the loss of biodiversity, make a better living for locals in coastal areas from fishing and eco-tourism, and provide economic and social benefits to Thailand.
In the MoU, all partners agreed to give coordination in sharing knowledge and expertise for supporting local conservationists in coral rehabilitation and area management for conservation. It aims to conserve corals and ensure sustainable use of valuable marine resources. Moreover, all parties committed to raise youths’ awareness in marine and coastal resources protection. The MoU will be valid 4 years but reviewed every 2 years.
During past 5 years, AGC Vinythai Coral Cultivation Project (Phase 3) was expanded and established in 6 new coastal areas. They are Kood and Mak islands in Trat province, Sichang and Kledkaew islands in Chonburi province, Kai island in Chumporn province and Payam island in Ranong province. The company and its foundation truly realize that the key to success for this social project is strong cooperation among all partners in sharing knowledge, expertise and resources with great determination, dedication, and contribution.
“AGC Vinythai will continue seeking for more cooperation from any party who shares the same goal in creating a sustainable society for not only people today but generations to come. Sustainability is not your business, but our business,” confirmed Tomotaka Yoshikawa, Managing Director of AGC Vinythai Plc.
“Throughout 20 years of our journey, we have come this far because of great support from all partners. So, I would like to extend my deep thankfulness to all partners for working shoulder to shoulder with us. We will hold hands more tightly to achieve our mission for our sustainable world,” expressed Prasan Sangpaiboon, Chairman of Coral Conservation Foundation supported by AGC Vinythai Plc.
