Map Ta Phut Plant 3 or MTP 3
In a 72,000 m2 area along I-7 Road in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, Rayong Province, MTP 3, a strategic base of AGC Vinythai Plc., has been constructed since September 2022 with the purpose of storing solar salt imported by sea with an annual capacity of up to 350,000 tons. It also serves as a storage area for 30,000 cubic meters Tanks of 50% concentrated sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) for export, estimated to be around 300,000 tons per year.
Upon arrival at the port, the salt is transported by truck to a salt yard, which can store up to 110,000 tons. The salt in this yard is then sent to MTP 2 plant to produce sodium hydroxide or caustic soda. Meanwhile, the 50% concentrated sodium hydroxide produced at MTP 2 plant is transferred via pipeline to two storage tanks at MTP 3, with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters each.
For export, the 50% concentrated sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) from the storage tanks at MTP 3 is loaded into bulk vessel with capacities ranging from 8,000 to 20,000 tons for delivery to international customers.
