We are deeply committed to managing risks and ensuring the utmost safety across the entire product lifecycle – from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to distribution, customer use, and eventual end-of-life. Our robust framework addresses potential risks such as injury or health impact to third parties, or property damage arising from product use, especially when products are applied inappropriately or in ways for which they were not designed.

Recognizing the critical importance of safety, particularly for products used in healthcare, food, and animal feed applications, AGC Vinythai meticulously characterizes and manages all risks associated with the uses and applications of our products. We prioritize mitigation actions, with a specific focus on preventing and addressing potential inappropriate use. Our comprehensive stewardship programs are designed to provide extensive information and technical assistance to our customers, ensuring a thorough understanding of safe use and handling.

Our Product Stewardship Management System (PSMS)

AGC Vinythai’s Product Stewardship Management System (PSMS) is a dynamic and evolving framework that continuously integrates new regulatory requirements and addresses additional potential risk causes. The PSMS is designed to identify, prioritize, review, and manage all health, safety, environmental, regulatory, legal, supply chain, and commercial risks associated with a product’s manufacture, distribution, and sale. Our PSMS embodies the following core requirements:

  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Ensuring rigorous compliance with all local and international regulatory requirements for all products and applications, while maintaining a consistent global approach.
  • Product Safety Management: Comprehensive management encompassing product composition and hazard information, intended uses and exposure, risk assessment, value chain communication, and a stringent management of change process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establishing clear requirements for the development and implementation of improvement plans to continuously enhance the effectiveness and reach of our product stewardship management system.

Key Pillars of Our Product Stewardship Program:

  1. Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Authoring and Global Distribution:

AGC Vinythai is committed to providing accurate and accessible safety information. We create Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all our products in strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and international standards, including the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) for chemical product classification and labelling.

  • SDS are distributed to all customers with the first delivery of a product and whenever a significant modification has been made.
  • We diligently ensure and monitor that all SDS are revised at least every three years for all current sales products.
  • Our global reach is supported by providing SDS in approximately 30 languages, with country-specific SDS available for over 50 countries.

2. Strategic Communication and labelling of Hazardous Substances:

Our approach to communicating vital safety information is comprehensive and proactive:

  • Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Management: We maintain a clear approach for managing SVHCs present in our products and raw materials.
  • Avoiding Harmful Chemicals: We continually assess the adequacy of laws, regulations, and standards regarding health to actively avoid the use of harmful chemicals in product development. Where such chemicals must be included, products are clearly labelled to ensure transparency.
  • Pre-Market Risk Disclosure: Before the introduction of new materials, technologies, or production methods, we rigorously assess and transparently disclose information regarding potential human health risks.
  • Clear Consumer Information: Vital safety information is conveyed to consumers through easily understandable symbols and clear instructions regarding proper product use, alongside explicit warnings about associated risks.

3. Responsible Product Use and Misuse Prevention:

Ensuring our products are used as intended is paramount. We implement dedicated processes to guide our customers towards responsible product application and prevent misuse:

  • Guidance for Controlled Use: We actively work to enhance customer understanding, providing comprehensive guidance and encouraging the use of our products under strictly controlled or equivalent conditions to maximize safety and efficacy in their specific applications.
  • Preventing Product Misuse: We establish robust internal processes and actively engage with customers to prevent product misuse. This includes, for example, ensuring that customers utilize the appropriate product grade for their intended application (e.g., preventing the use of a technical grade material in place of a food-grade material where required). Our goal is to ensure product performance and safety by aligning product characteristics with specific use cases.

4. Global Regulatory Compliance (e.g., REACH, UK REACH, K-Korea, KKDIK):

AGC Vinythai is dedicated to adapting to and complying with emerging product regulations worldwide. We proactively ensure that our products meet all relevant regional and national chemical regulations, including:

  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical Substances) in the European Union.
  • UK REACH in the United Kingdom.
  • K-Korea in South Korea.
  • KKDIK in Turkey.

For products classified as dangerous goods (e.g., Epichlorohydrin), AGC Vinythai maintains advanced and highly specialized safety programs that extend beyond our facilities:

  • Safety Self-Assessment for New Customers: We conduct thorough safety self-assessments to evaluate the unloading and storage safety protocols at new customer sites, ensuring their facilities meet our rigorous standards before product delivery.
  • Voluntary Customer Safety Review Program: Our dedicated Technical Marketing team offers a proactive, voluntary safety review program. This includes on-site visits to customers to assess their adherence to our detailed safety guidance, fostering a collaborative culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement in safety practices.
